	John Cassidy in the *New Yorker* about Obama’s statement on Iraq made last Friday before leaving the White House:


	“From his body language, it is clear that he wants to re-engage with Iraq about as much as he wants to undergo a root canal.”

		Kenneth Pollack, a senior fellow in the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution: “Things won’t come to a crashing halt, but it’s likely that the violence will simmer for some time.” It’s also possible that this could spark what many have always feared: that Iraq breaks up into its tribal areas along ethnic lines.
